An Educational Psychologist works in the field of emotional wellbeing of people, focusing on children and their needs. Since children form part of a bigger society, like a family, social group, scholastic environment, other role players in the child’s upbringing and development are often included into therapy, specifically the parents and/or primary caregivers. Therefor, therapy with children would normally include an initial session with the parent(s) or caregivers and most often include at least one feedback session with the relevant adults as well. Emotions are often the driving force behind the actions, choices and success of a person. In addition, being unhappy and emotionally unhealthy can be very limiting, and therefore it needs to be addressed. Thus, concerning parents are often included into the therapeutic program with the child.
